Socially Safe Environment

HERA against racism and discrimination

1. Our conviction

We are bringing women’s football into the spotlight: strong, visible and inclusive. This is incompatible with exclusion or discrimination in any form.
We lower barriers for girls to play football. This requires an environment where you feel safe, can be yourself and are seen.
That is why there is no place for racism or discrimination at HERA.
Not on the pitch.
Not on the sidelines.
Not online.
Not within our organisation.
This applies to everyone around HERA: players, staff, personnel, volunteers, supporters and partners.

2. Zero tolerance

HERA maintains a zero tolerance policy regarding racism and discrimination. By discrimination, we mean any form of distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on, among others:
  • Skin colour or origin
  • Nationality
  • Ethnicity
  • Religion or belief
  • Gender or gender identity
  • Sexual orientation
  • Age
  • Disability or chronic illness
  • Political conviction
  • Social or economic background
Racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, sexism and other mechanisms of exclusion are not tolerated — not on the pitch, not on the sidelines, not online and not internally.

3. Code of Conduct

We expect everyone involved with HERA to:
  • Communicate respectfully
  • Use inclusive language
  • Actively stand against discrimination
  • Call out inappropriate behaviour
  • Report incidents
We believe in shared responsibility: looking the other way contributes to the problem. Online behaviour Our standards also apply on social media. Discriminatory or racist remarks directed at players, staff or supporters will not be tolerated.

4. Reporting procedure

Anyone who experiences or witnesses racism or discrimination within the context of HERA can:
  1. Contact the confidential advisor at vertrouwenscontactpersoon@hera-united.nl
  2. Report it to the board
  3. If applicable, report it through the official KNVB channels or VVCS
