HERA United has strengthened their squad with Corina Luijks. The forward signs a contract until the end of this season.
Luijks was born on 20 November 1995 in Bergen op Zoom (North Brabant) and started playing football at RKSV Halsteren. In the Netherlands, she played for Excelsior in the Eredivisie in 2018. Her career then took her to many European leagues, including those in Belgium, Italy, France, Hungary and Turkey. In the 2023-2024 season, the technically gifted forward made the move to Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia. Her most recent club was Italian side Como. Luijks also represented the Dutch futsal team, which is reflected in her technique on the pitch.
Luijks: “I have played abroad for 7 years, during which I was fortunate to experience some wonderful moments. At times it was also lonely, and I wanted to return to the Netherlands. I had actually stopped playing outdoors and was only playing futsal. I think HERA United is a fantastic club with a unique approach, and I am very eager to make my contribution. I believe I bring a lot of experience, both on and off the pitch.”
HERA United is delighted that Corina is returning to the Eredivisie.
