HERA United signs Suus de Bakker

HERA United has reached an agreement with Suus de Bakker on a contract that will keep her at the club until the end of the season. The contract takes effect immediately.

De Bakker (born in Amsterdam on January 18, 2003) played four seasons of college soccer with the UCI Athletics women’s soccer team (University of California, Irvine). During this time, the right-back won the Big West Championship three times and competed in the national championship on three occasions.

In December, De Bakker returned from the United States and trained with Jong HERA United. Her qualities stood out, and Ed Engelkes invited her to train with the first team. “She did so well that we are very happy to keep her in the squad. We are therefore delighted that she is staying,” said Engelkes.

De Bakker said: “I hope I can help HERA United with my strength and determination. Like HERA United, I have a lot of ambition. It is a historic club, and I consider it an honor to be part of it. In America, I was a fan of Angel City, also a women’s football club, so being able to play here now is perfect for me.”
